Terms of Service
Effective April 20, 2026
These terms cover your use of Recalio. By joining the waitlist or using the app you agree to them. If something’s unclear, ask us — we’d rather clarify than argue.
1. The service
Recalio is a read-it-later app with AI-assisted highlights, summaries, and spaced-repetition recall. It is currently in private beta; features may change, break, or disappear without notice. We’ll do our best to give you a heads-up for anything big.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Recalio.
- Keep your login credentials private. You’re responsible for activity under your account.
- One person per account. Don’t share logins.
3. Your content
The articles you save, the highlights you make, and the notes you write belong to you. We store them so the app works and display them back to you. You grant us a limited licence to process this content — including sending it to AI providers for summaries and highlights — solely to operate Recalio. Delete your account and we delete your content.
4. Third-party content
Recalio lets you save articles from around the web. Copyright in those articles belongs to their authors and publishers. You’re responsible for making sure you have the right to save and read what you save. Don’t use Recalio to republish or redistribute other people’s content.
5. Acceptable use
Please don’t:
- Scrape, mass-harvest, or systematically download content through Recalio.
- Use the service to store illegal material or infringe anyone’s rights.
- Try to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the app.
- Use Recalio to harass, impersonate, or harm others.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules — usually with a warning, but immediately for serious abuse.
6. AI output
Recalio generates summaries, highlights, and category suggestions using AI. AI makes mistakes. Treat its output as a draft, not a source of truth, especially for anything important. You are responsible for how you use it.
7. Pricing & plans
Recalio is free while in beta. When we introduce paid plans, we’ll give waitlist and existing users fair notice and a way to opt in. Early users will not be silently moved onto a paid tier.
8. Availability & disclaimer
Recalio is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee the service will always be available, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. Back up anything that’s important to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Recalio and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to what you’ve paid us in the past twelve months (which, during beta, is zero).
10. Termination
You can stop using Recalio and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, or discontinue the service — we’ll give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data if we ever do.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised terms.
